The fiberglass body was removed from the frame and refinished in Cordovan Maroon (988) during the late-2000s refurbishment. The doors feature 1968-model-year-only push-button door releases, and additional equipment includes a color-matched hardtop, a driver-side mirror, 427 badging, pop-up headlights, chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets exiting through the rear valance. Silver-painted 15” Rally wheels feature chrome hubcaps and trim rings and are mounted with F70-15 Firestone Super Sports Wide Oval redline tires. A jack is stored within a compartment behind the seats, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.
The bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl with a matching dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Equipment includes a Delco AM/FM radio, a heater, a polished shift knob, a rear window defogger, and lap belts. Corrosion is visible on the pedal arms.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges mounted in the center stack include an analog clock along with displays for fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows just under 15k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 427ci L89 V8 features an aluminum intake manifold and cylinder heads as well as three two-barrel Holley carburetors. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Engine pad stamping 401423 corresponds to the last six digits of the car’s serial number as shown in the gallery. Engine code T09I9IU indicates an L89 V8 built on September 19 at Tonawanda for use with a manual transmission. Additional markings are presented in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a Posi-traction rear end.
The included warranty booklet shows an in-service date of October 23, 1967, and the Protect-O-Plate indicates the following information:
