Description
The body was refinished in its factory Gulfstream Aqua with white vinyl side stripes in 2011. Exterior details include an integrated rear lip spoiler, a retractable antenna, three NACA ducts on the hood, Shelby badging, front fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, and a chrome grille surround, bumpers, window moldings, and door handles. Bowing of the hood is noted as well as wear to the weatherstripping, and paint blemishes are visible in the gallery below.
Five-spoke 15″ alloy wheels…

Five-spoke 15″ alloy wheels feature polished lips and Cobra-branded center caps and are wrapped in F70-15″ Firestone Wide Oval tires with raised white lettering. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted brakes, and a space-saving spare wheel is located in the trunk. The brake fluid is said to have been changed in September 2021.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a Sport Deck folding rear seat trimmed in black vinyl with perforated inserts along with a matching dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpets. Mustang-branded floor mats line the footwells, and faux woodgrain trim accents the dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes a roll bar, a padded center console, Shelby-branded emblems, and lap belts. The Philco push-button AM radio and dashboard-mounted clock are inoperable, and the glovebox bears Carroll Shelby’s signature.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel wears a GT500-branded horn button and frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. Oil-pressure and voltage gauges are mounted ahead of the shifter. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 51k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the current owner.
The 428ci Cobra Jet V8 was rated at 335 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque when new and is said to have been rebuilt as part of the aforementioned 2011 refurbishment. Service performed in September 2021 is reported to have included rebuilding the carburetor, replacing the fuel pump, servicing the fuel system, cleaning the fuel tank, and changing the oil and coolant.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok rear axle with 3.50:1 gearing. The transmission and rear axle fluid are said to have been changed in September 2021.
