The car is said to have been finished in brown from the factory and was repainted in red under prior ownership in the 1980s. The seller notes a pea-sized dent beneath the driver-side bottom corner of the trunk, a pea-sized dent in the rear bumper, and bubbling paint exhibited around the hood louvers, close-up photos of which are presented in the gallery.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels with Jaguar knock-off hubs are wrapped in 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Power-assisted disc brakes are fitted at all four corners, and the braking system was flushed and bled in 2014.
The interior is trimmed in tan leather with matching carpeting and door panels, offset by a black dashboard and black rubber floor mats. Amenities include a Becker Europa AM/FM radio and a wooden shift knob, and the seller notes that the removed factory black shift knob is included in the sale.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows just under 58k miles, approximately 1,300 of which have been added by the seller. The speedometer cable was replaced in 2014.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors that were rebuilt in 2014. The valve-cover gasket and exhaust-flange gasket were replaced under prior ownership in 2008, and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
Engine stamping 7R11555-9 matches the number displayed on the Jaguar builder’s plate, which is pictured in the gallery below.
