The suspension was overhauled with a Rough Country lift kit, Fox Racing shocks, and dual front stabilizer bars. The truck is equipped with Hydroboost power steering, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin has been refreshed and features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black upholstery and fitted with green Smittybilt G.E.A.R seat covers. The door panels, dash pad and bezels, pedal pads, and carpeting have been replaced, and the body-color dashboard houses a CD stereo. Additional equipment includes lap belts for five passengers, a body-color roll bar with neoprene padding and overhead grab handles, a “fire missiles” cigarette lighter, a removable U.S. Army Special Operations Command challenge coin, slope-pitch indicators, a center console with integrated cupholders, folding stainless-steel rear cupholders, all-weather floor mats, and a B&M ratchet shifter. The turn-signal arm has been fitted with a spent Krag rifle casing said to date from the 1890s.
A hardwood and aluminum steering wheel frames a replacement instrument panel consisting of a 100-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges for battery status, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 85k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement 5.3-liter fuel-injected Vortec V8 was finished in green under prior ownership. Work completed since the seller’s purchase has included replacing the windshield-wiper motor and arms, belts and hoses, fuel tank, fuel lines, and fuel pump in addition to rewiring the electrical system and installing an aluminum radiator with electric fans along with aluminum hydraulic hood hinges.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. A dual exhaust system was fitted during the refurbishment.
