Finished from the factory in Blue, the car was repainted in the House of Kolor shade of Candy Apple Brandywine in 1985. Exterior features include black-painted side-view mirrors, chrome bumperettes, custom central exhaust outlets, and Scott Bell projector-style pop-up headlights with daytime running light functionality. A back-up camera has been mounted above the rear license plate, and two additional rear-facing cameras are located near the decklid hinges.

Polished 17” multi-piece Kinesis wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires sized 255/40 up front and 335/35 out back. Stopping power is provided by red-painted Wilwood four-piston calipers paired with 13” ventilated rotors at all four corners. The seller reports that the suspension components have been powder coated, and additional modifications include stainless-steel brake lines, front and rear 1” sway bars, and chassis stiffening braces.
The interior was lined with Dynamat sound deadening before being fitted with black fabric Sparco bucket seats with red stitching and red Schroth multi-point harnesses, along with black carpets protected by DeTomaso-branded floor mats. A custom hand-stitched Italian leather-trimmed dashboard and door panels with carbon fiber accents and speaker enclosures have also been added. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, a push-button starter, gated shifter, rearview mirror with an inset display wired to the back-up camera, electric windows with Viper cable-driven motors, rocker switches for vehicle functions, and a dashboard-mounted iPad Mini wired to an Audison Voce Duo amplifier and Hertz speakers.
A black leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel is fitted with a quick-release and frames white-on-red Speedhut instrumentation that includes a 200-mph GPS-based speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. A quartet of DeTomaso-branded auxiliary gauges is found in the custom central dash display, and the digital odometer shows just over 6k miles, all of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 393ci Stroker V8 was reportedly rebuilt and bored .030″ over by Russ Fulp Racing of Anaheim, California. Engine components are said to include the following:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt and polished ZF five-speed manual transaxle that features a Fidanza aluminum flywheel and lightened front balancer. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
The Deluxe Marti report lists a build date in October 1971 and shows production statistics as well as the factory colors and initial distribution to Los Angeles, California.
The car is titled in Alabama using VIN THPNLV02152, which utilizes a “V” in place of the “U” shown above.
