The DMC-12 was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign and features unfinished stainless steel panels over a fiberglass underbody mounted to a Lotus-derived double-Y chassis. Distinguishing features include gullwing doors, a front spoiler, integrated urethane front and rear fascia panels, and a louvered rear window cover. 14″ front and 15″ rear turbine-style aluminum wheels are wrapped in Goodyear NCT tires measuring 195/60 up front and 235/60 out back. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the four-wheel independent suspension utilizes coil springs at each corner. The seller notes that the tires are over 20 years old and should be replaced before any street driving.
The cabin features high-back bucket seats upholstered in gray leather, matching door panels, and gray carpets. Amenities include power-operated door windows, a rear cargo net, DMC-embroidered floor mats, and a factory AM/FM/cassette stereo. The air conditioning does not work, and the glove box features a John DeLorean signature.
The padded steering wheel fronts an 85-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for battery voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows under 8k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the seller since 2014.
The rear-mounted 2.85-liter V6 was designed and built by Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo (PRV) and was factory rated at 130 horsepower and 153 lb-ft of torque. Service performed in November 2020 included an oil and filter change as well as a coolant exchange.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The transmission fluid was exchanged in November 2020.

The Carfax report shows registration history in Ohio and Massachusetts and indicates no accidents or other damage since the first entry in December 2008.
