Black 16″ Fuchs wheels show a worn finish and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Exalto N0 tires that were installed 4k miles ago. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors, and the front brake pads, rotors, and calipers were replaced in May 2023.
The seating surfaces are trimmed in Cork special leather, and the cabin features a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets as well as Porsche-script floor mats. Amenities include a center console, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo that is missing its tuner knob. A Clifford alarm system has been installed.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a clock and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. A 170-mph speedometer was installed in July 1982 in favor of the factory 85-mph unit, and a related invoice from California Porsche/Audi of San Francisco, California, is shown in the gallery below. The six-digit odometer shows 138k miles.
The 3.0-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 172 horsepower and 189 lb-ft of torque. Work in May 2023 included fluids services and replacing the fuel pump relay. The air filter, fuel filter, fuel injector seals, air duct hoses, spark plugs, and valve cover gaskets were replaced in April 2022, and a timing chain tensioner update kit was installed at that time. The engine mounts were replaced in November 2018. A collection of service invoices dating back to February 1982 is shown in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Additional photographs of the underside are shown in the gallery below.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to California Porsche/Audi in San Francisco, California, as well as factory equipment, options, and a total price of $35,125.
