The seller states that the windshield and the rear storage-area gasket were replaced under current ownership. Paintless-dent-repair work was carried out in 2015 on the hood, right fender, and right quarter panel. An indentation is noted on the left side of the roof along with corrosion on the rear valance and touched-up paint chips.
Previously finished in a gold color, the staggered-width 16″ Cromodora wheels were repainted silver in 2016 and wear Goodyear tires that reportedly were replaced in 1989 up front and 2009 out back.
The cabin features seating trimmed in brown Connolly leather with matching door panels and carpets, which are joined by a black dashboard and armrests. Interior equipment includes a gated dogleg shifter, Borletti air conditioning, GTSi dash badging, electric windows, Ferrari-branded floor mats, and a Kenwood AM/FM cassette player and CD changer connected to aftermarket speakers. The speaker cover from the left door is missing, and a cut in the piping is noted on the driver’s seat bolster.
A black three-spoke Momo steering wheel fronts Veglia Borletti instrumentation that includes a 180-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges measuring oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates 51k miles, approximately 8k of which have been added under current ownership.
The mid-mounted transverse 2.9-liter V8 features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and four valves per cylinder. Output was factory rated at 230 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque when new. The timing belts and water pump were replaced in 2016 by Saint Charles Motorsports (also known as A&A Tire and Supply) of Saint Charles, Illinois, along with the air filter, camshaft seals, spark plugs, coolant hoses, accessory belts, and belt tensioners. Additional work is said to have included refinishing the intake plenum in red.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. Additional images showing the condition of the underside with the lower cover removed are included in the gallery below.
A tool kit, leather storage bag, and fire extinguisher are housed in the rear storage compartment.
The window sticker above shows initial delivery to Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada, along with colors, equipment, and a total suggested retail price of $60,345. Manufacturer’s literature and service records dating back to 1986 are included in the sale and pictured in the gallery.
