The mid-mounted 2.9L quad-cam V8 is equipped with four valves per cylinder and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Service in 2016 included replacing the water pump, air boot, engine oil pan gasket, timing belts, tensioners, and radiator hoses. The battery is said to have been replaced in 2021. The car last passed a California emissions test in December 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. An aftermarket stainless-steel exhaust system is installed. The transmission pan gasket was replaced in 2016.
