The M491 option was first introduced in 1984 and features the wider front and rear fenders from the contemporary 911 Turbo. This example was optioned without front and rear spoilers and is finished in Guards Red (G1). Equipment includes a manually operated black convertible soft top, a matching boot, and fog lights. Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels feature black centers and are fitted with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires measuring 205/55 up front and 245/45 out back. The tires show 2019 date codes, and a temporary spare tire is mounted in the front trunk. M491-specific equipment includes Turbo-specification brakes, anti-roll bars, trailing arms, and torsions bars. The brake springs and brake fluid were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The power-adjustable sport seats are upholstered in black leather, which extends to the door panels. Interior amenities include air conditioning, a replacement Blaupunkt cassette stereo, a HiFi sound system, electric windows, central locking, and floor mats.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central 7k-rpm tachometer, a 170-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, oil level, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 83k miles.
The 3.2-liter M930/25 flat-six was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential. Service in preparation for the sale included the replacement of the aluminum seal ring and an oil change.
