Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels with black centers and polished lips measure 6″ wide up front and 8″ wide out back and are fitted with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus tires with 2021 date codes. The car is equipped with factory sport shocks in the front and Bilstein sport shocks in the rear. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and the brake hoses and brake fluid were changed in 2021.
The cabin is upholstered in Cashmere Beige partial leather (LC) with matching door panels and carpets, green floor mats, and a black dashboard. Amenities include power-operated height adjustment for the front seats, a factory-optioned short shifter, cruise control, power windows, and an aftermarket Sony CD stereo. The air conditioning was refurbished in 2017 which included conversion to R134a and installation of Kuehl condensers and evaporator, and a variable-speed fan.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline, a 170-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 112k miles, approximately 65k of which were added by the seller. A stopped odometer was recently repaired, and total mileage is unknown.
The air-cooled 3.2L flat-six was factory rated at 214 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque when new. A 2005 refurbishment included rebuilding the cylinder heads and replacing the head studs and piston rings. Relays have been added to the electrical wiring for the high and low beam lights, and work in 2021 included a valve adjustment and an oil change. Leakdown test results are shown in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. The starter and ring gear were reportedly replaced in 2010 and the clutch fluid is said to have been changed in 2021. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
