Additional equipment includes fog lights, painted mirror caps, a power antenna, LED headlights, and dual exhaust outlets. A November 2013 entry of the Carfax lists “very minor damage” to the left-rear of the vehicle following an accident with another motor vehicle. The 15″ Style 10 wheels are mounted with Pirelli tires. The M-Technic Package added a sports suspension with a lowered ride height, and the car is equipped with power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with cross-drilled and slotted rotors, which are said to have been fitted in 2018. According to the seller, the struts, tire rods, and sway bar end links were replaced in 2018, while a replacement ABS sensor and front brake calipers, pads, and lines were fitted in December 2021.
The front sport seats and rear bench are upholstered in black leather with M-Technic-patterned inserts and are complemented by color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an onboard computer, an AM/FM cassette stereo, M-Technic sill guards, a Viper alarm, BMW-branded floor mats, and power windows, locks, and side mirrors. The heater core was reportedly replaced in 2019, and the overhead check panel light remains illuminated, per the seller.
A four-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including a 150-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 115k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.5-liter M20 inline-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 168 horsepower and 164 lb-ft of torque. The rear main seal is said to have been replaced in May 2020, during which time the transmission oil pump, filter, mounts, and front and rear seals were reportedly replaced. The car passed an emissions inspection in July 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a factory-optional limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to Bavarian Motor Village of Detroit, Michigan, along with factory equipment, options, colors, and a total suggested retail price of $41,935.
