Silver-finished 17″ Cup wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero Nero GT tires measuring 225/45 up front and 255/40 out back. The Club Sport model featured revised suspension with a 20mm-lower ride height compared to the standard 968, and this example was ordered with the optional Sport Suspension (030). Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with black Porsche-branded calipers at each corner. The brake fluid was flushed in May 2022 and three of the wheels were repaired in December 2022.
The Club Sport was approximately 200 pounds lighter than the standard 968, and weight-saving measures included the absence of rear seats, airbags, and sound deadening material. Features include Recaro bucket seats with body-color shells trimmed in black cloth as well as air conditioning, power windows, a Blaupunkt Toronto Bluetooth stereo, yellow seat belts, and Porsche-branded floor mats. The driver’s window switch was replaced in May 2022.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 300-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary combination gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 83k kilometers (~52k miles).
The 3.0-liter inline-four features VarioCam variable valve timing and was rated at 237 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque when new. The front of the engine was resealed in May 2022, at which time the timing belt and roller, drive belts, tensioners, spark plugs, and fuel filter were also replaced. The starter and fuel tank level sending unit were replaced in December 2022, and a fluid service was reportedly performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential. The transaxle fluid was changed in May 2022, and additional underside photos are presented in the gallery.
