This example was delivered new in Guards Red and is equipped with a sunroof, a rear window wiper, and a body-colored rear spoiler. The Carfax lists damage occurring in 1996 as the result of the car hitting a stationary object, and photos showing the damage that occurred during prior ownership are provided below. Close-up photos of the current paintwork and trim condition are also provided in the gallery below along with images of paint-meter readings.
Polished 18” Speedline Cup wheels with Porsche-crest center caps are wrapped in staggered-width Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Braking is provided by cross-drilled rotors and red-finished calipers with white Porsche script at all four corners.
The interior features front sport seats trimmed in Cashmere leather with black piping, and they are equipped with electric height adjustment. Black leather covers the dashboard, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, lightweight pedals, and a Porsche cassette stereo. An uninstalled six-disc CD changer is included in the sale.
Controls, switchgear, and instrumentation are shown in detail in the photos below. Factory gauges include a 180-mph speedometer and a six-digit odometer showing 36k miles, approximately 150 of which have been added by the current owner.
The 3.6-liter M64/50 flat-six features factory-modified cylinder heads with unique inlet and exhaust ports, as well as upgraded camshafts, modified timing, and a larger turbocharger. Power output was rated at 380 horsepower in S trim when new, and this example is fitted with an aftermarket diverter valve. An oil change and inspection were performed in preparation for the sale.
Stamping ☆61R00955☆ is shown above on a collection of borescope images and matches the number listed on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, confirming the engine as original. Transaxle stamping 2003756 is shown in the gallery and also matches the CoA.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type G50/52 five-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the coated exhaust components and other underbody details can be viewed in the gallery below.
