The Series 1 was designed by Shelby American and was manufactured at the company’s facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The carbon-fiber and fiberglass laminate bodywork is mounted on an aluminum chassis, and this example is finished in silver. The car is equipped with a black soft top and front fog lights, and the seller states the front valance was repaired and repainted to address scrapes. The seller reports that the convertible top leaks, that dust is visible under the sealed headlight lenses, that rubber weather stripping near the windshield and side windows is worn, and that scrapes are visible on the underside of the right side skirt and lower-right of the rear bumper. Chips are visible on the rear deck, driver’s door top, and near the convertible top mounting points.
Multi-piece 18″ wheels wear Shelby-logo center caps and are wrapped with Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR tires that measure 275/40 up front and 295/45 out back. The car features a racing-derived pushrod suspension, and stopping power is provided by gray-finished four-piston calipers.
The interior features bolstered seats with black leather upholstery, gray inserts, and embroidered Shelby signatures. Carbon-fiber trims the shift knob, and amenities include air conditioning, a Monsoon stereo with cassette and CD players, and power windows and locks. The seller states the driver’s seat foam was replaced after it was damaged by a rodent.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 14k miles, all of which were added during current ownership.
The dashboard-mounted plaque bears serial number CSX5028.
The Oldsmobile-sourced 4.0-liter Aurora L47 V8 was rated at 320 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque when new, and the engine bay features carbon-fiber trim. Service completed in 2017 included an air-conditioning system recharge and replacement of the radiator cap, water pump gasket, and thermostat and seal. The oil was most recently changed in August 2021, at which time the battery was also replaced, and the car passed a California emissions inspection in June 2021. The seller notes clearcoat peeling on the carbon fiber engine cover.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle made by RBT with ZF components. A stainless-steel Borla exhaust system is fitted as standard, and additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.
