The Henrik Fisker-designed Z8 drew inspiration from the 507 Roadster of the 1950s and features aluminum body panels over an aluminum spaceframe. The Alpina Roadster was produced for the 2003 model year after standard Z8 production ended. This example is finished in Titanium Silver Metallic and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a black soft top. Additional equipment includes xenon headlights with washers, front fender air extractors with BMW roundels, painted mirror caps, dual exhaust outlets, and neon taillights and turn indicators. A Monterrey 2016 badge is affixed to the front grille, and the seller notes that paint protection film was applied to the nose, the first third of the hood, and the mirror caps in 2009.
Staggered-width 20″ Ronal wheels are mounted with Nitto Invo tires measuring 245/35 up front and 285/30 at the rear. The four-wheel disc brake system is equipped with Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), and the Alpina model received a softer suspension as compared to the standard Z8. Additional features include Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and All-Season Traction (ASC).
The cabin features Sport Red and black Nappa leather upholstery that extends from the heated seats to the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include leather-wrapped roll hoops, a wind deflector, a power-adjustable steering column, air conditioning, cruise control, a six-disc CD changer, navigation, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The radio cover panel is said to have been signed by Henrik Fisker in 2016, and an iPod adapter is said to have been installed under current ownership.
A plaque mounted between the seats denotes this Alpina Roadster as chassis #243 of 555 in the series.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel features Switch-Tronic shift buttons and frames an Alpina-branded gear indicator ahead of the driver. Centrally mounted instrumentation consists of a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with an integrated analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 8k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.8-liter M62 V8 was shared with the contemporary B10 V8 S and features double-VANOS variable valve timing, individual throttle bodies, a double-row timing chain, and hollow camshafts. Factory-rated output was 375 horsepower and 396 lb-ft of torque. The performance package added a front strut tower brace and supports. An oil change was carried out in preparation for the sale. The seller states that the engine cover was signed by Andreas Bovensiepen, CEO of Alpina, in 2016.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed Switch-Tronic automatic transmission. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
