Jaguar developed the aluminum-bodied, tube-frame C-Type as a competition variant of the XK120 after the latter showed promise racing in the hands of privateers. Approximately 50 examples of the original C-Type were built, among them the 1951 and 1953 24 Hours of Le Mans winners.

The composite bodywork on this re-creation is painted in metallic blue with an Ecurie Ecosse-style livery comprised of white nose stripes, #77 roundels, and Ecurie Ecosse fender shields. Other features include a chrome flip-up fuel filler, a side-exit exhaust system, Brooklands windscreens, a louvered hood, covered headlights, turn signals, and a Jaguar Cars nose badge.
The 16″ painted wire wheels feature chrome Jaguar-branded two-eared knock-off hubs and are mounted with 205/70 Continental ContiProContact tires. A matching spare wheel is stowed in the rear hatch. The tubular steel frame features steel front bulkheads and aluminum floor panels as well as a four-wheel independent suspension. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard rear units.
The left-hand-drive cockpit features fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in red leather along with a matching center console and door sills. Matching carpets line the footwells, and additional equipment includes Willans Racing three-point harnesses, a black shift knob, and cable door pulls.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted on a collapsible column ahead of a Smiths 160-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6,500-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 250 miles.
The 4.2-liter XK inline-six was reportedly sourced from a Jaguar XJ6 and is fitted with triple Weber carburetors.
