This is a re-list after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in July 2022 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner has been banned from future participation on BaT and their buyer’s fee was not refunded.
Super Sport-style 14″ wheels are mounted with Firestone Wide Oval FR70 tires. The car was ordered with the F41 Special Performance Suspension featuring larger sway bars and boxed rear control arms according to the provided build sheets. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features bench seats trimmed in black vinyl upholstery with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes lap belts with front Deluxe Shoulder Harnesses as well as power steering, a heater and defroster, hand-crank side windows, black rubber floor mats, and a Delco push-button radio. The seller notes that the rear speaker has been removed and is not included in the sale.
An SS-logo steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a replacement analog clock, and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer indicates 1,700 miles, approximately 600 of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The 402ci L34 V8 was marketed as a 396 in 1970 and was overhauled prior to the seller’s acquisition, and it is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, larger-than-standard exhaust valves, and a COMP Cams hydraulic roller camshaft. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale, and service invoices are provided in the gallery below.
The engine block stamping includes a CTW suffix, which aligns with the code for a 402ci L34 V8 with a four-barrel carburetor producing 350 horsepower for use with a three-speed automatic transmission.
