Work performed under current ownership is said to have included removing the body from the frame, replacing the rocker panels, and repainting the truck in Medium Olive. The white removal hardtop was refurbished at that time, and a replacement windshield, rear window, side windows, and seals were installed. Exterior details include chrome-finished bumpers, dual side mirrors, woodgrain body trim, CST door badges, and a Heartthrob aluminized exhaust system with dual outlets.
White 15″ steel wheels wear polished dog dish covers and are mounted with Atturo Trail Blade A/T tires. Equipment includes manually-locking front hubs, replacement Gabriel shocks and rear springs, and power-assisted brakes with front discs and rear drums. Spare wheel covers are included in the sale and can be viewed in the gallery.
The cabin features front sport bucket seats and a rear bench that have been reupholstered in Parchment vinyl with plaid Avocado cloth inserts. Metal surfaces are finished in the color of the body, and equipment includes a center console, a Custom Autosound Slidebar Radio, and replacement black carpets with matching floor mats. The truck is equipped with the Highlander Group C package, which included power steering, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, and air conditioning.
The steel dashboard has been fitted with a replacement black dash pad and houses a 100-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 125 miles, which is said to reflect the distance traveled since the completion of the refurbishment. The seller states that 10k miles have been added under current ownership, and true mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 was reportedly overhauled under current ownership with replacement pistons, rings, timing chain components, water and fuel pumps, fuel lines, spark plugs, and ignition wires. Additional work is said to have included rebuilds of the Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor and cylinder heads as well as installation of a Pertronix electronic ignition system and a Comp Cams camshaft, lifters, pushrods, and roller tip rocker arms. A seller-supplied list of refurbishment work can be viewed in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, an NP205 dual-range transfer case, and 3.73:1 differentials. The transmission and transfer case were reportedly overhauled under current ownership.
Additional photos taken during the refurbishment are provided in the gallery.
