The 850CSi featured revised front and rear valances as well as a lowered ride height compared to other E31 coupes. This example left the factory finished in Tobago Blue and was repainted by Enterprise Body Works in Santa Ana, California, in 2021. Staggered-width 18″ Style 37 M Parallel wheels were refinished and mounted with Falken Azenis tires in 2021. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with ABS. The CSi featured a modified suspension with stiffer springs and dampers, and four-wheel steering with an active rear axle was standard. The tie rod assemblies, brake pads and rotors, sway bar links, and front control arms and bushings were replaced during the refurbishment.
The Tobago Blue and black leather upholstery was re-dyed in May 2022, at which time the sunroof panel cover was reupholstered. Equipment includes an onboard computer, heated power-adjustable front sport seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, a mobile car phone, driver’s seat memory functions, and a power-adjustable steering column.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 300-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 177k kilometers (~110k miles), approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.6-liter S70B56 V12 features Bosch Motronic fuel injection and engine oil cooler, and it was factory rated at 375 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Work performed during the refurbishment included replacing the valve cover gaskets, crankcase vent valves, intake manifold gaskets, spark plugs, fuel injectors, air box gaskets, and breather hoses during the refurbishment. The battery, crank position sensor, distributor cap and rotor, water pump, thermostat, drive belts, tensioner, and fan clutch were also replaced, and a power steering fluid flush was performed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with a differential oil cooler. The differential pinion seal was replaced and the fluid was flushed in 2022.
