The first-generation WRX was introduced in 1992, with the Subaru Tecnica International-modified STi variant entering production in 1994. First-generation GC and GF WRX STis were pulled from the Subaru assembly line and subsequently modified by STi. Production was initially limited to 100 units per month. This example is finished in Black Diamond Pearl (47A) and features front and rear spoilers, fog lights, a hood scoop, power-folding and adjustable mirrors, side sill extensions, roof rails, and a rear window wiper. Pink STi badging is present on the grille, front spoiler, and fenders, while a multi-color WRX graphic is affixed to the tailgate.
The 15″ five-spoke factory alloy wheels are mounted with 185/65 Deruibo RC21 tires. A yellow-painted spare wheel with a Bridgestone tire is mounted under the rear cargo floor. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
The right-hand-drive cabin features front sport seats and a rear bench trimmed in black with gray inserts as well as red contrast stitching and embroidered STi logos. Equipment includes power windows, air conditioning, and a Kenwood cassette player.
The leather-wrapped Nardi steering wheel features red contrast stitching and a carbon-fiber STi-branded horn button. It frames a 180-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. A trio of auxiliary gauges is mounted in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows under 57k kilometers (~35k miles).
The turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter EJ20 flat-four was factory rated at 247 horsepower and 227 lb-ft of torque. A strut tower brace with pink accents spans the engine bay. A September 2022 service included the installation of a new timing belt, thermostat, spark plugs, and manifold studs. Fresh fluids were also added at that time, and a replacement ignition coil was also installed in 2022.
Power is sent to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a viscous-type limited-slip center differential. A replacement clutch was installed in September 2022.
