The 993 Targa was based on the Carrera cabriolet bodyshell and featured a revised roof with a lifting and sliding glass center section as opposed to the removable top found on earlier 911 Targa models. This example is finished in black and features headlight washers, fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. The selling dealer notes that paintwork has been performed on the hood, and photographs of paint-meter readings are shown in the gallery below. The targa roof shade was repaired and the roof was realigned in 2021.
Targa-specific two-piece 17″ Speedline wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires showing date codes from 2020. Braking is handled by Porsche-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. A brake fluid flush was performed in 2021.
The power-adjustable front seats are upholstered in Cashmere Beige leather, and the cabin features matching carpets and a black dashboard. Amenities include cruise control, air conditioning, and a Becker-Porsche CR-210 cassette stereo.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 15k miles.
The air-cooled 3.6L M64 flat-six features a VarioRam intake system and was factory rated at 282 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. Work within the last year has included replacing the upper and lower valve cover gaskets, installing aluminum Rennline lower valve covers, and changing the timing chain cover gaskets and seals, the heat exchanger gaskets and seal rings, and the ignition wires and spark plugs.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transaxle with Tiptronic manual shift mode. Additional photographs of the underside are shown in the gallery below.
