The GT-H was only offered as a coupe for the 2006 model year, and all 500 examples were finished in black (UA) with gold stripes as a tribute to Hertz’s 1966 Shelby GT350-H “Rent-a-Racer” promotion. Exterior features include hood pins, a raised rear spoiler, a brushed grille insert, Shelby and Hertz badging, and dual exhaust outlets.
Gray-finished 17″ alloy wheels wear 235/55 Pirelli P Zero Nero tires. GT-H models were fitted with the Ford Racing FR-3 suspension package, which includes stiffer springs with a lowered ride height as well as revised dampers and anti-roll bars.
The cabin features seats upholstered in black leather, along with matching door panels and a silver-accented dashboard. Equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, a Hertz-branded SiriusXM module, and a Shaker 500 audio system with an in-dash six-disc CD changer.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 145-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 17k miles.
The 4.6-liter SOHC V8 was modified by Shelby with a Ford Racing Power Pack cold-air intake, re-tuned engine management software, and a free-flow exhaust system. Output was rated at 325 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 3.55:1 gear ratio.
